Project Vision

As Asheville, NC’s first mixed-use community, Biltmore Park Town Square is meant to serve as a blueprint for a smarter, more sustainable way of creating community spaces that are livable, functional, energy efficient, environmentally-friendly and people-focused.

Its design represents the shared vision of two companies, Biltmore Farms and Crosland.  Their goal — to heed the principles of New Urbanism and create a place that fosters and nurtures meaningful connections between people, businesses and the environment.

As one of the region’s leading creators of master-planned communities, Biltmore Farms is working to set the standard for sustainable land management and environmentally sensitive development in Western North Carolina.  The company’s history goes back to 1897.  Founder George W. Vanderbilt was an early exponent of the concept of sustainability in this country, pioneering efforts in forestry, agriculture and community-building.  Today, Biltmore Farms proudly carries forward this tradition, and its commitment to quality is showcased in communities like Biltmore Park®, Biltmore Forest, Biltmore Lake®, and The Ramble® Biltmore Forest.

Founded in 1937, Crosland’s focus has always been centered on three simple concepts — quality, craftsmanship and integrity.  The company, which is headquartered in Charlotte, is known across the Southeast for its development and management of forward-thinking communities that combine economic viability with innovative and environmentally responsible approaches to how we live, work and shop.
